University applications scams
In these times scammer are becoming increasingly active, targeting students with false promises. Please take note
What to Watch Out For:
Scammers may promise admission, placement, or accommodation at universities or residences in exchange for money.
They may claim to "sell courses" or guarantee your acceptance if you make a payment upfront.
You may encounter these scams on social media, through phone calls, emails, or even in person.
The Truth:
Universities do NOT sell courses or accept payment for placements. Admission is based on academic merit and official processes only.
Accommodation offers are handled directly by universities or their official partners—there is no need to pay third parties claiming to "secure your place."
If someone asks for money to guarantee your spot, it is 100% a scam.
Let’s look out for one another and ensure no one falls victim to these tactics.
Stay vigilant, stay informed, and protect yourselves.
